The Day that Bastard became President

Director
Kyung-hwa Son
Info
2010 | 66min 30sec | color | HDV | No Subtitles

Synopsis

My Dad supports the conservative party even though he¡¯s poor.
As a progressive myself, I think Dad¡¯s attitude is a contradiction.
I wonder how his thought, or rather conviction, came about.
With the 2010 local elections approaching, I head for my hometown Daegu.

Director's Statement

An old political joke in Korea:
¡°The male chauvinist right wingers of Daegu will never change.
For social progress, all we can do is wait for them to die out.¡±
So do I have to wait for my own Dad to kick the bucket?
What breeds progressives and conservatives?
How should I live my life?
Brimming with such questions, I start rolling my camera.
