Synopsis

Sophie was six and a half when she left the orphanage, and has never been back to South Korea since. A year ago, her past suddenly caught up with her when apparently chance brought her into contact with her biological father Chang-Ho. She takes a plane to Seoul. There, those who have never forgotten Soo-Jin await her eagerly. And here Sophie prepares to reconnect with her past.

 

Director's Statement

This documentary, , has humanity of 'an adoptee¡¯s journey to find identity'.
Across the humanity of ¡®an adoptee¡¯s journey for finding her identity¡¯, this documentary, , contains naturally behind social issue ¡®the adoption¡¯ without enforcement of emotion, any prejudgement what is right or wrong.
Through this documentary, we`ll focus on Sophie who is happy to accept her adoption and grew up well as French adopted person. It¡¯s delight and touching(impression) during visiting Korea to Find her root and biological family. Their meeting is obviously happy, but we will see how it act inside the matter(difficulty) of communication according to two languages and cultural differences, and how she feel center of her Korean family who remember her as ¡®a little Soo-jin¡¯, in a usually after return to France, how she accept about ¡®Korea¡¯ and 'Korean family'.
CHOI Yun-Jung who know well about Korea, Gabriel LAURENT who know well about France, completed two point of view which is in society that they belong, in the tradition and culture, and life style through the eyes of two Director¡¯s co-directing.
