Info

Synopsis

My grandmother¡¯s home has a mystery. Whenever my grandmother takes care of a dog, they die. It seems dead gods are strongly related with her life story.

Director's Statement

This project explores essayistic personal documentary film as an artful, moving, humanly rich form, following the track of grandmother¡¯s life story. It starts in the funny, mysterious, and fictional situation, but it suddenly meets political and historical issues with a different kind of logic. More interestingly, it is expected that I can find some ironical and paradoxical pairs, which are the visibility/ the invisibility, the temporality/ the eternity, reality/illusion, one moment of the world/research, unreasonable, magical power/ scientific reason and ordinary document/ fictional mystery.

I thought about how I can meet my grandmother¡¯s life story and what I learn from it.
