Director's Statement

The following events that unfold in Love in Korea are real and unscripted. I was able to witness this bizarre incident first-hand as the Korean coordinator for the Bangladeshi film crew. I wanted to go to Bangladesh, meet their families, and investigate what exactly motivated their journey to Korea and eventual disappearance. More than anything, I wanted know why the director disappeared. Migrant workers are no strangers to modern day South Koreans and Bangladeshis take up a large portion of that population. I wanted to take a deeper look into their lives.
