Synopsis

A man travels from Korea to Mexico in 1905 to work the henequen plantations of Yucat?n. He is resurrected in the ¡°stories¡±?memories, testimonies, and myths?shared by his children and grandchildren in 2015. As a conversation transcending time and space progresses between the ¡°I¡± who mediates the stories and ¡°the man¡± who performs the articulated stories, the boundaries between fictional tales and actual occurrences begin to blur: the stories become history and history becomes a story.

Director's Statement

focuses on the performative aspect of history as a form of storytelling, which is particularly relevant to narratives regarding the first wave of Korean Immigration to Latin America.
