Synopsis

A sketch of Seoul Art Cinema during the last screening program ¡°Adieu, Paradise¡± in Nakwon-Dong (which means a paradise) from March 17 until 29, 2015.
After 10 years in Nakwon-Dong, Seoul Art Cinema should leave for another place. A foundation plan of cinematheque theater announced by the City of Seoul and the Korean Film Council is still in a state of drift for more than 10 years. It¡¯s already a second move after spending about 3 years in the basement of Art Seonjae Center and moving to the Hollywood Theater in Nakwon-Dong. During the last screening program in Nakwon-Dong, I hurried to take my camera to shoot Seoul Art Cinema, because there won¡¯t be any more chance to.

Director's Statement

n Seoul Art Cinema, phantoms of movies speak to us. I wanted to look around these phantoms¡¯ spaces that I like and of which I have plenty of memories. I also wanted to share people¡¯s memories of Seoul Art Cinema as well as various places in Nakwon-Dong. It is necessary to break off the nostalgia for past and to accept the changed world. In spite of this inevitable sadness, I hope this film could be a small souvenir which fragrant memories about Seoul Art Cinema in Nakwon-Dong are indelibly written on.
